The colors in this bead are gorgeous and makes a beautiful addition to your Pandora bracelet!!!

Beautiful bead and silver is same quality as my other Pandora bead charms. Very pleased.

This charm came in and looks even better up close than shown in the photo's here. It was delivered much quicker than expected and with a free gift as well. It is a lovely piece and I will most certainly purchase from Heirloom again as the quality was fabulous. Thank you Heirloom for going beyond the ordinary!

I received the charm days after ordering! Very fast shipping, and I was very pleased with the product! It looks just as pictured and I know my mom will love it too! The seller even sent a free charm as a gift, even though the gift is not something I'd keep on my bracelet permanently, it was still very nice to receive! The item ordered came in a gift box as well. I would definitely order from this seller again. :)

this charm was cheap looking, the picture looks better - I would stick with pandora or chamilia next time

One needs to have a clear understanding of what mm looks like against inches. It is so very easy to be taken in by the beautiful photography. Without question, this bead is lovely. But, it is quite a bit smaller than the major brands. If you are looking for smaller beads, you will not be disappointed in this delicately detailed silver bead.

I purchased two of these for my Chamilia bracelet, and they do not thread on that either, but slide freely and are a bit larger (as shown in the photo on this page - that is accurate), but I alternated them with plain silver beads and also with crystal ones and they look fine. I was just happy that the quality seemed to be in line with the other charms I have on my bracelet.

This bead is very beautiful, intricately designed and of superior quality. It is a larger size bead, but works nicely with the many glass beads that are available. You won't be sorry with this choice!

Check the dimensions, 8mm x 11mm. I agree with the other reviewer-this is much larger than the other beads. I placed it in the middle of the others, but several of these placed alternately with smaller sterling bead charms should make a nice bracelet idea. Also, pairs nicely with size of Murano beads.

This bead is larger than some of the others I have purchased through Amazon. It is a nice bead. It doesn't thread onto the Pandora or Biagi bracelet, so it will slide freely.

You'll get no denial that I've had my critical difficulties with Mariah Carey as an artist over the years. I've always been drawn to hear her but always left very wanting. That is,until lately. Not to say that many of my thoughts on her aren't still true: I still firmly hold that her music is uneven in a lot of key places and sometimes experimentation just isn't her friend. But despite her dogged tendancy to stick to certain types of sounds she actually has rised to the occasional on several occasions to let us know she developes artistically anyway. And there are also more than a few signs, especially here that she improves musically with time also. Her personel troubles of this 2001-02 period actually did a lot for her musically. A lot of the sometimes sickeningly sweet elements of her music were beginning to fall by the wayside by pretty huge degrees and she takes a cue from one of her better albums statements Butterfly to create something that lives up more to her musicianly and artistic sensabilities as opposed to everything being so obviously commercial. So yeah it has that "Mariah sound" written all over it,and she DOES have a "sound" as it were but she is refining it in some very key ways here. Even the slower songs with orchestrations are making more use of spaces and breaks and the result is an appealing realness and maturity to the production. Sure it had been coming but in retrospect that this was definately the step before The Emancipation of Mimi. The slower jams such as "Through The Rain",her late paternal dedication of "Sunflowers For Alfred Roy" and of course the really great "My Saving Grace" especially bring home the soul/gospel energy and release that would come to more of a fruitation on the next album and might really surprise lovers of Mariah's early 90's more adult contemporary style ballads. The more contemporary uptempo music such as "Boy","The One","You Got Me" and "Irresistable" showcase a more refined variation on the hip-hop/soul sound than she's previously commited to in that form that relies on a blend of loops, samples and live instrumentation that gives a bit more form to them. The last section of the album,to me anyway is the most appealing overall. "Lullaby" and "Subtle Invitation" showcase a strong, late 70's inspired sophistifunk sound-the latter song with a great horn section and both with great rhythm sections and basslines. "Bringin' On The Heartbreak" has a surprisingly effective pop/rock sound to it and serves as one of the more dramatic pieces here. One of the qualities that most people don't like about this album is to me one of it's most appealing. Mariah's exhausted sounding voice here has a yearning and crying sound that's set far apart from that bomastic, rangy style she tended to clobber most of her earlier music over with, offering something pretty close to vocal pathos for her. For people who tend to be highly critical, such as myself I suppose of Mariah's more over the top sound of some of her ohter music this points to a lot of growth for her not only on those terms but for stylistic range, stronger sense of groove and general atmosphere. Along with the other two albums I mentioned here this stands as one of her stronger overall releases.

I remember when this album first came out. Im really suprised it didn't chart higher on billboard because Through the rain was all over MTV and the radio. I actually decided to listen to this album after getting it off of limewire. Well, I was actaully pleasently surprised. I thought it was alot better then what I excepted. I think she did a great job of just trying to stay simple while have some great beats in her songs. Through the rain? Seriously,it was way to dull and boring. in fact, i remember i girl saying Mariah carey, ugh? Seriously when this song came out! AnD she was pretty girly! That's why i was casutious to listen to this, cause i figured it would put me to sleep on the road, but it's actually very good. And it's a great hidden gem for any fan of mariah. I thought her gospel ballad was quite surprising and very good. Circles or cirus was a pretty good track as well. This album should def. be purchased by anybody that loves pop and r and b. You won't be disappointed!

Music is great, no doubt. I just wanna complain to the sender that no case was included, and there are many scratch on the disc which is still readable by CD player. But the condition posted was "excellent"-it is NOT! I would like to change it with better condition's one.

I know Mariah could have done better on this album. The only song I like from this album was Through the rain, everything else was so dead. It was a complete borefest. There was no passion, no excitement, no sparks. It didn't really feel like a Mariah Carey album. It was like she was completely absent on this. I wanted her to show off her beautiful vocals that made her famous, but all I got was whispers. People may think that Glitter was her worst, but I don't think they have seen worst yet compared to this album. At least Glitter was more fun to listen to. It got me on my feet, but this album did not. I like the theme, but the songs could have been better. She could have put more effort and emotion into it like her previous albums, but I guess she was going thru alot during that time why she didn't put enough effort into this.

Average Rating:

Mariah Carey's ninth album has been touted as her comeback album, coming as it does after the belly flop that produced the overwrought soundtrack to her ill-fated film, Glitter. With Charmbracelet, Carey goes out of her way to fix all those aesthetic glitches, tempering the overblown vocals, simpering lyrics, and uninspired funk covers of her last album and returning to what she does best--showcasing her magnificent five-octave voice and pillaging her lift history for inspiration...

Herrmann/Waxman/North - Piano Concerti Herrmann/Waxman/North - Piano Concerti

Reviews

I bought this CD for the Waxman "Paradine Case" piano concerti. One of the most beautiful pieces written for film. Waxman's work is poetic, complex and darkly romantic, which made him such a perfect fit for Hitchock's films. Moreover, I have come to find that many of my timeless favorite films have one common feature, a score by Waxman. It is worth noting that this CD is recommended by the Waxman "estate"/website for those interested in this particular piece. My only disappointment is with some of the other pieces on the CD... beautifully performed, but not really a good match with the Waxman concerti, very different, more modern and atonal.... Still, this version of "The Paradine Case" is so good, it's worth it for this alone... one of the most haunting and memorable themes of all film themes.

Reviews

Decca's recently acclaimed recording of Franz Waxman's powerful THE SONG OF TEREZIN certainly whetted the appetite to hear more from a composer whose earlier reputation had rested almost exclusively on numerous Hollywood film scores. Now a much fuller picture of this remarkably gifted musician can be gleamed from Koch International's enthralling collection of original compositions and arrangements. Of primary interest is "Goyana", a collection of four imaginatively conceived minature sketches for piano, percussion and string orchestra inspired by specific paiantings of Goya, beautifully played by Cristina Ortiz, and the menacing Sinfonietta for strings and timpani whose musical language is close to that of Shostakovich. After this, a frustratingly brief introduction and Scherzo for cello and orchestra provides a tantalizing glimpse of the Cello Concerto that Waxman had hoped to write for Pierre Fournier. All the arrangements are worth savoring, though the best of all is surely the "Auld Lang Syne" variations - a guaranteed party show stopper in which Waxman brilliantly parodies the styles of Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and the composite composer Shostakofiev. Mark Kaplan dazzling performance of Rumanian Rhapsidy is not to be missed. No Waxman collection would be complete without the ubiquitous "Carmen" Fantasie composed for Heifetz. Performed here with wonderful dexterity by Rodney Mack in a transcription for trumpet and orchestra, it sounds amazingly convincing, as does the rest of this very appealing release by the Orquestra Sinfonica de Barcelona i National de Catalunya conducted in high style by Lawrence Foster.

I was particularly stunned by the Carmen Fantasy rendition given by trumpet virtuoso Rodney Mack. His technical facility and breadth of tone is unbelievable! I highly reccomend this recording to anyone who wants to hear tomorrow's virtuoso soloists today!

The dvd was bought for my grand daughter and she was thrilled when she got it. Thank you.

I thought this live action version was wonderful! I love, love, love the cartoon/book and yet also really liked this movie version. The voice actors did a great job, however, Charlotte's voice (Julia Robert's) fell a little flat. I think a better actress would have been Christine Lahti. Julia Robert's voice lacked the motherly, loving emotions that were portrayed better in the cartoon. Anyway, that was minor. I was weary to watch this movie because I just hated the remake of "Charlie and Chocolate" factory because of it's total lack of innocence and child wonderment. This movie, however, portrayed the beauty of friendship, childhood innocence, love for another beautifully. Of course, I still love the cartoon the most! I cried reading the book, watching the cartoon, and this movie.

This is one of the most delightful stories I have ever seen on DVD. I loved each character, and there are plenty of them. I especially liked that it was not a cartoon. This is a "must see" for families who just enjoy some time of good clean fun. There is laughter, silliness (in the crows) and just plain good watching during the entire story! I highly recommend it to young and old alike!

1. As many folks, I grew up reading and loving Charlotte's Web. 2. As with most movies based on books, I was doubtful that this movie would live up to the book. But this movie is about as good as you can get in regards to an adaptation based on a book. Great acting, obviously great storyline, and the modern twist of having the animals talk is one of the "improvements" that a movie can bring to the table. 3. Highly recommended to all.

Very cute dvd I would recomend to everyone with kids or if they are a kid at heart.

I bought 2 of these as Xmas gifts. One for my daughter, one for my neice. The day they got them, they both lost charms off the bracelet. My daughter lost 2 charms and my neice lost 1. They were both very disappointed and do not wear them any more for fear of losing more charms.

I bought this for a gift and will return it. It is very cheaply made.

I purchased this item for my little sister for Christmas n she really likes it

Nice gift or stocking stuffer...purchased for my 13 yr old daughter. She loved it. I thought it would be more dainty but if she's happy, I'm happy.

Decent quality piece and I like the fact that it is LICENSED and OFFICIAL merchandise unlike other homemade, over-priced products found on Amazon. The oxidized pewter enhances the item giving it an almost goth, romantic feel.

Made of cheap materials but you cant complain for the price. I would purchase for someone 10 years old and under. Two of the charms fell of when my 7 yr old daughter wore it too school. Not the best bracelet out there. Runswithvampires has a way better bracelet that I purchased for myself (cost more), but its way nicer.

Fairy Realm #1: The Charm Bracelet Fairy Realm #1: The Charm Bracelet

Reviewed by Madeline McElroy (age 8) for Reader Views (9/09) This book is about a girl, named Jessie, with long red hair. Jessie is visiting her grandmother at Blue Moon. Her grandmother has a secret garden in her backyard full of trees, flowers and a big hedge. Jessie doesn't know that her grandmother is a magical fairy queen from a Fairy Realm. One day Jessie went into the secret garden and heard voices coming from the hedge calling her. She stepped into the hedge and sees an elf woman and a horse. Jessie couldn't believe where she was! Jessie also saw flowers, trees, and a big magical castle far away. Jessie spent the rest of the story trying to save the Fairy Realm from the evil, wicked Valda, grandmother's cousin who was trying to take over the garden. My favorite part of the story is when Jessie first enters the Fairy Realm. She meets all kinds of new friends and discovers all these new magical things and places. The chapter "Panic!" had a lot of action in it. I enjoyed reading "Fairy Realm: The Charm Bracelet" by Emily Rodda and can't wait to go to the book store to find more Fairy Realm books.

*My rating is 4.5 stars.* The Charm Bracelet is the first of prolific Australian author Emily Rodda's delightful Fairy Realm series and serves as a wonderful introduction to traditional fantasy for young children. In The Charm Bracelet, we meet Jessie who, along with her mother, is spending some time with her grandmother while the elderly woman recovers from a fall. Jessie loves her grandmother and her grandmother's home, Blue Moon and, as the story starts, is dismayed that her mother is suggesting that it may no longer be safe for her grandmother to live alone. (Both Jessie's father and her grandfather, who was a well-known fantasy artist, have passed away.) Though she doesn't want her grandmother to have to leave her beloved home, Jessie is very concerned about her and about the fact that she seems to have lost her "spark". As it turns out, Jessie has cause to be concerned. The charm bracelet her grandmother always wears has gone missing and without it, her grandmother's ability to remember something very important that she must do has abandoned her. Before long Jessie learns that her grandmother is in fact, the true queen of the Realm, a magical world that can be entered through a secret gateway in Blue Moon's garden. With the aid of some creatures she meets after traveling to the Realm by accident, Jessie races to discover how to help her grandmother regain her memory in time to save the Realm by renewing its magic. Jessie is a likeable character - caring and kind, adventurous, brave and very normal. Kids will find her "approachable", will look up to her and will enjoy cheering her on. They'll also be delighted by the magical creatures and objects peppering The Charm Bracelet. I've been reading this series to my four year old granddaughter who is very into fairies right now. (She enjoys this series far more than the Disney Pixie Hollow fairy stories or J.H. Sweet's Fairy Chronicles, two other series we tried.) She loves Jessie, talks about the stories long after we've finished them and has even named some of her stuffed animals after characters in the books. The Fairy Realm consists of ten books. Over the course of the series, Jessie meets many different kinds of fairies and magical creatures (the titles often indicate what kind), finding some friendly and others less so. In most of the stories, Jessie faces a problem or a predicament to be solved rather than an evil person or creature plotting something diabolical. Danger exists, but I don't find it too intense for my granddaughter. (Of course parents should always make that determination for themselves.) Each of the books is 100 pages long with 10 chapters of 10 pages each, leading me to believe that Rodda is a far more organized person than I. A lovely black and white illustration by Raoul Vitale prefaces each chapter and will help children envision scenes and characters. The books build on each other to some extent but not to the degree that a child will have difficulty remembering important plot points from previous entries in the series. Nor will reading the stories out of order cause much disruption to the series' overarching plot which is a bit thin. The Fairy Realm series in order: The Charm Bracelet The Flower Fairies The Third Wish The Last Fairy-Apple Tree The Magic Key The Unicorn The Star Cloak The Water Sprites The Peskie Spell The Rainbow Wand While the Fairy Realm books may lack complexity and depth of character, they're entertaining, fun and make great read-aloud stories. My granddaughter is having a wonderful time swimming with mermaids, meeting unicorns and partying with Pixies. Her enjoyment adds to my own. I also appreciate the fact that this series isn't tied to seemingly endless merchandising - it makes for a nice change! :-) Happily recommended. **Though I normally do not like to label books "for girls" or "for boys", my guess is that this series will hold far greater appeal for girls. If, after looking one of the volumes over, you come to the same conclusion - and you're shopping for a boy - you might consider checking out another of Rodda's series, Rowan of Rin. Rowan's adventures may hold more appeal for the little man in your life than do Jessie's. If you like Rodda's style, she is also the author of the Deltora Quest and its related series Deltora Shadowlands and Dragons of Deltora. Her current series is about an alternate world called Rondo. All are for slightly older kids - perhaps 8-11?**

I bought this for my then 7 year old daughter and she absolutely loved it. It's a great book to get young girls interested in reading on their own and started on chapter books.

How would you like to find out a deep secret about your grandmother? Well Jessica finds out a deep secret about her grandmother. The book is called the Charm Bracelet by Emily Rodda. Jessica, Queen Jessica, Valda, Patrice, Maybelle, and Giff are the main characters in the book. Blue Moon is where the grandmother lives and Fairy Realm and it is Fantasy. I feel about this book that the Charm Bracelet is a very good book and it is very descriptive throughout the book. There is a very bad problem; grandmother's bracelet has disappeared. Also Valda tries to take over Fairy Realm. Solution is that Jessica goes to Fairy realm to find the bracelet and tricks Valda. Jessica goes to Blue moon to visit her grandmother. Jessica notices that her grandmother's bracelet is missing. She looks for the bracelet for a long time, and then she ends up in Fairy Realm. She finds out that Valda has replaced Queen Jessica. Then Jessica plans to trick Valda. That's all I can tell you. My connection to this book is that Jessica Was scare when she found herself in the realm and so would I. [...]

Anyone who loves to imagine will get pulled into this book. The first book in the Fairy Realm series, The Charm Bracelet by Emily Rodda, is set in both Blue Moon And Fairy Realm. The problem begins when Granny loses her charm bracelet. In the beginning Granny loses her charm bracelet that helps her remember to go back to Fairy Realm, where she is a queen and renew the magic of the hedge that keeps all goblins and ogers out. Next, Jessie Granny`s grandaughter gets pulled into fairy Realm and tries to figure out who stole Granny`s bracelet. To find out who stole Granny`s bracelet and if the magic of the hedge gets renewed in time, grab a copy of The Charm Bracelet now. The message the author wants me to learn is to always be brave, care for each other and always try to reach out and help. This book reminds me of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Girls ages 8-10 in 3rd and 4th grade will love this book. If you enjoy the Charm Bracelet try the rest of the Fairy Realm series and more by Emily Rodda. N.M. in Annapolis

Love this book! It inspired me all over to put together my charms with some of my mother's onto the bracelet she wore. Mine had hidden in my jewelry box for years and after finding this book, I put my charms and some of hers together, and its just beautiful. It's yellow gold, with special events, lockets, children's names, and events from my mother's and my life, along with three gold coins my grandmother had worn as pendants. The book is beautifully illustrated and written, and an absolute joy to look at and read~

I was under the impression that this book would show me how to make these charm bracelets. Yet it's anything but. It teases you with very beautiful pictures of charm braclets, yet that's about it. If you want a book of beautifully made charm bracelets, then this book is for you. If you want to learn how to make them, check out the classes at your local bead store.

I have been a collector for years. My bracelet's theme tells the story of my life. This book provides information on the types of charms, and meaningful charms of luck that should be on any bracelet. While my search is for a charm book that gives the vibrational meaning of each charm and its purpose...this book is a collection of graphic detailed charms that will send you to the jeweler if you are a real collector.

I loved this adorable little book, and you will too. It is written with charm (pun?) and wit and made me smile lots of times. The pictures are beautiful and will inspire you to want even more charms than you already have. Definitely buy it if you are at all interested in charm bracelets.

This is a nice picture book and fun to look through but when it comes to putting together charm bracelets the suggestion is to take it to a jeweler. Charm bracelet collectors, buy this book. Charm bracelet makers, look elsewhere.

This is a very informative book about the history of charms. The photos are wonderful and fun to look through. Great coffee table book at my house!

This is an extremely useful resource for any one who collects charms. The coverage of the subject is comprehensive and the illustrations are exquisite.

I have every book there is on collecting charms and charm bracelets. This book is the best written, contains the best history, best advertisements, etc. The book has over 300 color pictures of charms, bracelets and advertisements. Unlike other books, this one gives equal time to both gold and silver charms and bracelets. You get a wonderful history of charms, charm bracelets and how they are made - decade by decade. What really sold me on this lovely book is the fact that it has lots of additional information. There is an appendix explaining metal markings and one showing pictures of actual metal markings with explanations. You also get a nice glossary of frequently used terms, a bibliography, and a wonderful index. If you want to know the history of charms and charm bracelets, their metal markings, and you can only get one book - get this one. This is great for collectors and for people who actually sell charms and bracelets. The author has done an outstanding job of compiling a lot of useful information and photographs in a wonderful, easy to read guide to the world of charms and charm bracelets.

Charms & Charm Bracelets: the Complete Guide is well researched and entertaining. This book gets it right! I read plenty of jewelry books and Charms & Charm Bracelets avoids most of my pet peeves. It is well organized and includes an accurate glossary, bibliography, and index. The photos are clear and well composed. Missing are photos that show more background than jewelry. You know the pictures I'm talking about. "Gee, is that an earring, bracelet, or waste processing plant?" Helpful information including measurements, prices, and circa dates is included in the captions. This is a fun and useful book.

Charms and Charm Bracelets: The Complete Guide is a price guide to charm bracelets from the 19th century to the present, illustrated with over 300 color photographs and featuring jewelry ranging in composition from gold to plastic. Written by an enthusiastic collector of antique jewelry, Charms and Charm Bracelets discusses techniques in making charms, trends in charm and jewelry making throughout the decades, factors to consider when evaluating and appraising specific pieces of charm jewelry, and much more.
