These are very tiny beads (of course), but there are lots of them. They are quite easy to thread and looked great in a necklace with orange and brown glass beads. I'd buy again.

I wanted to get into using a bead-loom and after much research decided to get this cheap one first before upgrading to make sure I liked the craft. Its perfect! No problems what so ever and I have already created really cool looking stuff. I highly recommend getting one. Its a great stress relief and fun! =D

Great loom for a beginner, but be sure to get yourself some extra beads and a good instruction book, what comes with the loom is very basic and incomplete in terms of creating anything . You will want patterns, and help with technique.

This is a great beginner's loom that works well. The wing nuts tighten up nicely and stay secure throughout a whole project. The only reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 is because the kit didn't have enough beads in it to complete the smallest sample design. But, just buy a bag of Darice #10 multicolor beads along with the loom and you're set to make beautiful things.

..my granddaughter was bored before she even opened the set. I suppose she'll get to it one day, when she runs out of other things to do. The set was cheap-looking, not nearly as nice as the illustration and description. The container was a cheap little plastic "purse" -- would have been soooo much better if they'd put more money into the set itself rather than the redundant and flimsy "packaging"

Bought this toy for my neices and was dissapointed when it came in the mail. Its so much smaller than I imagined it would be. I ended up going and buying another set at the store to compensate for it.

I bought this for my 4 year old's birthday, and it looked so cute online, but in person it is teeny tiny. The carrying case is useless, once it's opened. It's nearly impossible to store the beads in it after it's opened. The beads are very pretty, but unless you are planning to store them elsewhere, don't expect to store them in the carrying case.

My 4 yr old granddaughter liked this set. It is well organized and not too difficult to handle. There is a good selection of different beads.

I bought these beads for my niece, and she loves them. The only problem is that the case of them is far smaller than I expected. Still a great toy.

I copy portions of works of art from the Great Masters and turn them into Jewelry or amulet bags. All I needed was the loom. I bought suitable thread and size 15/0 beads for my work separately. I can imagine it being super easy with larger beads. Being portable, this loom is perfect for me.

Bought my girls two over the summer for something different to do and they made nice bracelets. They really enjoyed using these.

I had to help my daughter make native american jewerly for school so we bought this. It served its purpose but I won't use it again. The string for the bracelets is very flimsy and fell apart. The beads are very small and the product overall is cheaply made. You need to use a sewing needle to thread the beads so this is not something for young kids.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I haven't had one since I was a kid and I wanted to get back into loom beading. Very simple design, great for beginners.

A 10 yr. old boy is working his third bracelet and is doing a necklace on this easy to use and very sturdy. I would buy again is the need arises. A good value for the money spent.

I am new to beading. I first purchased "Seed Bead Stitching, Creative Variations on Traditional Techniques" by Beth Stone Seed Bead Stitching: Creative Variations on Traditional Techniques, which is full of lovely projects and has very clear instructions. I absolutely love her book; but it made me realize that before I tackled the projects on her book (which at the time seemed daunting to me due to my lack of knowledge), I needed some basic instruction on beadwork. I am so thrilled that, after much searching, I purchased "Teach Yourself Visually, Beadwork". This book is very clear; not only does it offer step-by-step instructions on the basics with numerous color photographs and graphs which are very clear, but goes further into finishing techniques and beginner and intermediate projects. I am happy to report that after reading the first three chapters of this book, I just finished one of Beth Stone's projects--and even modified it a little to fit my taste! I highly recommend this book. I know that I will not only finish reading the book (and practicing the stitches), but I will keep it in my library and will go back to it often for consultation. The book is divided by Chapters, which take you from the basic materials needed for beadwork to beginner and intermediate projects to practice what you learned. I found Chapter 2 particularly helpful and clear and have gone back to it frequently and have successfully applied the instructions. I recommend that you "Look Inside the Book" and check out the table of contents. It will give you an excellent idea of the clarity and scope of what this book has to offer. Great book. MC

This book is excellent for the beginner and for your library when wanting to learn a new stitch. It also has a lot of tips woven in that I've not seen anywhere else and they are very helpful. Buy the book.

Much Nicer than the little spiral bound book which is Strictly FOR someone who knows nothing about beading. If you are a Visual learner then this book is for you. Beautiful pictures, easy to follow directions for Peyote Stitches (more than one)Net Beading,Herringbone, Ladder and Brick Stitch, Square Stitch, Spiral rope, Right Angle Weave. It lists the beginning bead work as well as the more advanced beading for the intermediate. Details on everything you need for each project as well as some better than most pictures of beads and some tricks beaders will find useful.

This is a fun, easy-to-use bead kit, with a loom included for making colorful and detailed bracelets. The loom is easy to use, even for younger children, and the project instructions are clear and easy to follow. Everything you need to begin is in the box: buttons, needles, thread, and thousands of beads. When you run out of anything, it's easy enough to find more, nothing in the kit is proprietary. Highly reusable, lots of use and fun for the price.

A 6 yr old girl loves it. It functions well and the book gives her many ideas. Recommended for children. It is easy to work with and light-weight.

This is a great craft. I would recommend it for tweens and above. My daughter is a very detailed 13 yr old. She likes this craft because it is something she cannot do on her own. She loved to braid bracelets and make jewelry already and this craft allows her to make bracelets different and more complicated than that.

This is a great book for children and adults! The directions are clear with good illustrantions and photos to show the exact steps for creating different types of bracelets. The loom that comes in the kit is a good quality loom, the kit comes with everything needed to get started. Beading on a loom is so addictive you will want to buy beads in every color imaginable so you can create bracelets with your own designs. I say this is another great book by Klutz. I have many different books and kits by this company and they make crafts easy and fun to do. I will be ordering more products from Klutz!

When I first started beading many years ago, I was told this is the first book you should buy. I believe this is true. When I get down and just want to bead but cant get started, I pull out this book and it helps me. It is an old beading standard so there isn't all the color and photos of the newer beading books but it is INCREDIBLE with the massive amounts of info here. Great to use to play and create. I cried when I heard that the author had passed away. I think of him as an old friend that I never met.

The illustrations are simple but difficult to follow. Pictures are in black and white so I was unable to get a sense of color patterns. It does however, provide how to information for the largest selection of designs and beading styles of any book I have. It is an older edition than most beading books and I like that. This book would probably be more useful to an intermediate beader than a beginner.

Cryptic ha! I think a little more so for younger beaders not used to looking at beading techniques that look like they were made using "X"'s "O"'s and "-" from an old Remmington typewriter sans digital imagery and photos. Once you get bead and needle in hand and just do it, then it becomes clear. Lovely book.

I really love this book, and I go back to it regularly. It's a wealth of information written by someone who really loved and researched the topic. The chain weaving techniques are really explained as well as some variations on them. Chevron variations like daisy stitch and Pottawatomie weave are in this book, as well as some wonderful photos of beadwork done by the artist and in his collection from the time he spent traveling and learning beadwork from Native Americans. He researched and documented well and it's a classic beadweaving book. The illustrations aren't as good as they are in current books but there is a reason this book is still in print. It's well worth the money for people work with seed beads. Highly recommended.

The late Mr. Goodhue had a unique way of learning how many of the patterns he describes were originally executed: he would take a piece apart bead-by-bead to find out how it was constructed. This resulted in very detailed diagrams for many, many intricate bead weaving patterns. The instructions and diagrams are easy to follow, although to get even tension and consistent results, some of the patterns require a good deal of practice.
